Matthew Plaster
Matthew has served as a Broadband Policy Advisor in the United States Senate for Senator Shelley Moore Capito. In this role, he played a vital role in shaping broadband policies and driving strategic initiatives to enhance broadband deployment nationwide.
Before working under Senator Capito, Matthew worked within the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) at the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) for the U.S. Department of Commerce. During his tenure at the Department of Commerce, he worked diligently to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, briefing congressional offices, committees, and state governments.
Matthew was a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation for Chairman John Thune. At Senate Commerce, Matthew worked in several policy areas, including developing policies on emerging technology, consumer protection, data privacy, and broadband deployment. While on Committee, he also worked in the Office of Oversight and Investigations.
Matthew also served as a Special Assistant to Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The American University.
